New York Post quotes Charles Jacobs and profiles the Jewish Leadership Project
In a thorough piece on the ADL’s failings, New York Post reporter Dana Kennedy interviews several prominent journalists, activists and Jewish leaders who explain why and how the ADL is failing to protect the Jewish community.
Their gist: ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt refuses to fight the “inconvenient” anti-Semites — minorities who physically attack Jews on New York streets; leftist anti-Zionists who defame them in the media and on campuses; and terror-preaching Islamic clerics who call for their murder in Israel. Greenblatt is happy to focus on white supremacists to the near exclusion of all these other threats.
The article quotes Charles Jacobs on why the ADL needs to replace Greenblatt, and the reporter refers to the Jewish Leadership Project’s soon-to-be-published book, Betrayal: The Failure of American Jewish Leadership, expected on May 9.
The book is a collection of essays by prominent writers and leaders who document and explain the failure of the Jewish establishment. These include Alan Dershowitz, Mort Klein, Jonathan Tobin, Thane Rosenbaum, Caroline Glick, Josh Block, Richard Landes, and William Jacobson.
Several essays are by unsung Jewish activists who document how their own local Jewish establishment groups — ADL branches, JCRCs, and Federations — betrayed their communities to avoid conflict and protect Democratic allies.
Jacobs and his partner, Avi Goldwasser, co-edited the book and will be available to discuss the book upon its publication.
