JNS chooses our message — the failure of Jewish leaders — as this year’s top Jewish story
Amongst all the other things in American Jewish news — escalating Palestinian terrorism, Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, Donald Trump’s political misadventures, etc. — JNS editor-in-chief Jonathan Tobin believes the less-covered phenomenon of Jewish leaders’ failures to be 2022’s most important story.
“American-Jewish leaders showed,” Tobin writes, “that they were more interested in Democratic Party talking points about democracy and misinformation — as well as on issues such as abortion and climate change — than in defending the people they purport to represent.”
We applaud JNS for being one of the very few Jewish news outlets which has reported on — let alone allowed criticism of — Jewish leadership failure in these critical times.
