A group of Presbyterians fed up with the U.S. Presbyterian Church’s long-standing support for the Palestinians has formed a new group which needs support from the Jewish community.

Presbyterians for Middle East Peace has issued a press release condemning their church for recently labeling Israel as an “apartheid” state.

“We at Presbyterians for Middle East Peace are angered by the decision of the 225th General Assembly to slander Israel as an apartheid state,” they write.

“This decision does not reflect the view of the membership of the PCUSA, as most members will be stunned and angered when they return home from vacation to find out about this action.”

Anti-Zionism has been a consistent problem within the American Presbyterian Church for nearly two decades. From one church elder meeting with members of Hezbollah and proclaiming on television that “We treasure… [their] precious words” in 2004 to officially endorsing BDS in 2018, the PCUSA has been a leading source of anti-Jewish bigotry within the mainline Protestant Church.

Please email the group’s contact, Todd Stavrkos, at pastortoddgpc@comcast.net and express your support for these brave Christians taking a stand against Jew-hatred inside their church.
