Islamist Extremism and Terrorism in Boston
In 2004, the Boston Globe printed an editorial by its editors claiming that once built, the extremist-led Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center mosque would be a moderating influence on Boston’s Muslim and a part of “the family of forward-looking religious institutions in Boston. In reality, APT’s extensive investigation shows that the mosque is a fount of extremism — defending terrorists, bringing in viciously anti-Jewish and anti-Christian speakers, and being headed by extremist leadership. The mosque is now led by the Muslim American Society, the American front of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood. The mosque’s influence and has resulted in terrorist charges or convictions for several individuals connected to the mosque, including the son of the mosque’s former vice-president.
