Two days ago, a release was sent that the “Losing Our Sons” documentary was released with limited viewing on-line that tells the true story of the first Al Qaeda Islamic murder on American soil since 9/11.
Americans for Peace and Tolerance (APT) and United West presented the special program on the first successful Al Qaeda attack on American soil since 9/11. The webcast featured the APT documentary,” Losing Our Sons” which tells the tragic story of the murder of US Army recruiter Andy Long in Little Rock in 2009 by Carlos Bledsoe, a Memphis-born convert to Islam and the [Obama administration] government refused to call it terrorism.
The program includes a discussion with the two fathers, who talk about the murder, the US Government’s response, and how they came together in their determination to warn the American people about the threat of radical Islam.Bledsoe, who changed his name to Abdulhakim Muhammad, when he converted, and admitted he murdered Andy Long “for Allah,” was sentenced to life in prison.
Dr. Charles Jacobs, whose organization, Americans for Peace and Tolerance, produced the film, said, “We have arranged with The United West to broadcast this special program featuring our film and a discussion with the two fathers: Daris Long, Andy Long’s father and Melvin Bledsoe, whose son Carlos murdered Andy.” Jacobs said.
The documentary was broadcasted on October 18, 2012.
“Many will be moved by the statements of the two fathers,” said Jacobs.
The film itself is a searing true story from America’s heartland, which tells of two American families whose lives intersected through a shattering act of violence. Melvin Bledsoe, a small business owner in Memphis, watched with pride as his son Carlos went to Tennessee State University in Nashville to better his life through education. Daris Long, an ex-Marine, felt honored that his son, Andy, chose to follow in his footsteps by joining the military.
But when Carlos Bledsoe converted to Islam and murdered Andy Long in Little Rock, Arkansas, both fathers are forced to confront a new kind of American nightmare. As Melvin traced the trail that led Carlos from Nashville to Yemen and then to Little Rock, Daris confronted an American government that seems to be in denial about what happened to his son.
In a foreshadowing of its response to the Benghazi attacks, the Obama administration still refuses to admit that Andy Long was killed by an Islamic terrorist while serving his country.”
Jacobs said the film has garnered wide praise: “ACT! For America founder Brigitte Gabriel has called Losing Our Sons “riveting, powerful, educational, and a must see for every American.”
Andrew McCarthy, who prosecuted the mastermind of the first World Trade Center bombing says that the documentary is “a wrenching wake-up call.” Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, insists that “the film stands as a warning to Americans about the consequences of a failing civic leadership.”
“Americans are now watching the Arab spring turn into a winter with the Muslim Brotherhood in the ascendance across the Middle East. It is important to see how Islamic radicalism is making strides right here on American soil.”
